How we measure
Every number on StartupsIntel has a source. This page explains each one so you can judge how much weight to give it.
Verified revenue
Revenue with a green check comes from founder-connected profiles that read directly from the startup's payment provider, such as Stripe. We show the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and longer windows exactly as reported, together with when they were last synced.
Estimated revenue
When a site has no verified revenue, we estimate it from traffic and public pricing:
- 3% of monthly visitors are assumed to be paying customers.
- 80% of them pay the cheapest monthly plan we find on the site.
- 20% pay the yearly plan. When no yearly price is listed we use 10 times the monthly price.
Example: 100,000 visits and a $19 monthly plan with a $190 yearly plan gives 2,400 x $19 plus 600 x $190, so about $159,600 for the month. These are rough models, never official figures, and we label them as estimates everywhere.
Traffic
Visit counts, engagement and traffic sources come from our traffic data provider and are estimates. When the provider has no data for a site, we leave the field empty rather than guess.
SEO, tech and pricing
Our crawler reads the public homepage and pricing page of each site. It runs 16 SEO checks, detects common technologies and records the lowest paid plan. Registration dates and registrars come from the official RDAP registry service. Popularity buckets come from Cloudflare Radar.
Freshness
Every analyzed site is stored. When a report is older than 40 days, the next visit refreshes it in the background.
Rankings
Monthly rankings are curated by our editors. Some rows are open to everyone and the rest are reserved for Pro members. Which rows are open is an editorial choice made for each edition.
